Two people enter the stage, perhaps meeting for the first time, and shake hands.
The pleasure of meeting the stranger emerges the moment their hands touch; the contact becomes the switch that makes the immaterial and the imaginary possible.
Through glances, gestures, pauses, and thoughts, the game has already begun—suspended in a time that cannot be measured—and the two people are now getting to know each other in countless ways, purely for the joy of being together in this dimension.
By recalling memories or imagining the future, they bring something different to the handshake—something that keeps changing shape… What else could this contact become? A couple’s dance?
How much can we truly know about another person simply through a handshake?
The essence of Nice to meet you two revolves around the concepts of play, degrees of familiarity, and the connection between mind and body, creating an emotional wave of irony, intimacy, conflict, and illusion.
All within the time of a handshake.

Sara Ariotti and Kyda Pozza met through the NOHA urban dance training program by Marisa Ragazzo and Omid Ighani, and began their professional careers together with the DACRU company in the adaptation of the production PEOPLE [the poetry of immaterial things].
In parallel, both artists have continued their own paths: Sara working with Pablo Girolami’s project-based company IVONA and developing her own research with the solo Misshapen; Kyda dancing for the Misanga collective in Alessandra Ruggeri’s production HA-BI-TUS and taking part in the theatre project Tartaruga (still in development) with Matteo Caramazza and Davide De Togni, directed by Davide De Togni and Noemi Valentini.
They are currently both members of the HUM collective, founded in 2023 with Aurora Sbailò, Beatrice Foglia, and Anya Pozza. Recognising their artistic affinity and compatibility of language, the two performers have initiated the new project Nice to meet you two, still in development, as co-authors, supported by Calimala Disclosure Platform – Nutida Festival and produced by House of IVONA.

On a dirt road in an unnamed village, a simple, repetitive dance is captured and shared online. This pattern that bounds bodies somewhere in the world is translated into a solo. Using two of Caterina Barbieri’s Fantas Variations, this solo explores the music’s dual etymology while evoking the fantasma, a ghostly memory of the source dance and embracing the open, improvisational spirit of the fantasia. Repetition serves as the physical architecture and choreographic score while the performer seeks what can emerge, shift and appear within its confines. A dance bound to structure, a presence bound to flesh. Continuing an ongoing research of irreducible and unretractable in dance, the performance is a new iteration of “once and never again”; a singular, ephemeral event created specifically for this festival.

Isidora Markovic studied ballet in Belgrade and Munich, and received a scholarship at the Ballett Akademie of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, where she graduated in 2014. For over a decade, she has danced with the Bavarian State Ballet, Nuremberg Ballet, and Hessisches Staatsballett, performing works by choreographers including Damien Jalet, Sharon Eyal, Hofesh Shechter, William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Xie Xin and others. Since 2023, she has been working with Pablo Girolami (IVONA) and as a freelance performer, teacher, and choreographer. Her choreographic work has been presented in theatres and gallery spaces in Germany, Serbia, and Spain. Alongside her artistic work, Isidora graduated with BA in Journalism and Media Studies from FMK Belgrade and is currently MA candidate in New Performance Practices at the Stockholm University of the Arts.

The Amazons

The eternal myth of warrior women riding fiery horses, bows clenched in their fists, muscular legs braving the storm, and fierce gazes set against delicate faces.
Beautiful, young, determined, ready to defend their independence with sword strokes or arrows.
The archetype of the Amazon, a warrior in no way inferior to man, also offers an opportunity to reflect on contemporary society and the role of women. Homer described the Amazons as “equal to men,” which, within the patriarchal society of ancient Greece, was a sign of respect.

Equilibrio Dinamico Repertoire Dance Company – A vision that moves, evolves and creates connections.

Equilibrio Dinamico was founded in 2011 by Roberta Ferrara, the company’s current artistic director and resident choreographer. She is supported by Vincenzo Losito, general manager and head of production.
Since 2021, the company has been recognized by the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Puglia Region and the Municipality of Bari as a Dance Production Organization. These recognitions confirm its identity, vision and structural solidity.
From the very beginning, Roberta Ferrara has worked to build a contemporary repertoire company with an international outlook, involving different choreographers in the creation of new works.

Equilibrio Dinamico has been described as “a voice outside the chorus,” highlighting an artistic strategy that differs from the trends of young Italian dance, with the aim of creating a company with a strong European profile, capable of fostering synergies among artists. Today, the company is permanently based in its operational headquarters in Bari, Southern Italy: a European-oriented space equipped with studios dedicated to research and creation, as well as a study area with an internal library and video library. The venue also hosts events, previews, residencies and performance activities: a living, active home. A place that breathes dialogue and international exchange.
Alongside its productions, the company develops residencies, co-productions and commissions that build an ecosystem of exchange among artists from different countries, backgrounds and perspectives.

Equilibrio Dinamico has been presented at festivals and theatres across Europe, America and Asia, and has collaborated with numerous Italian Cultural Institutes — including those in Mexico City, New York, Athens, São Paulo, San Francisco, Ankara, Cologne and Zagreb — consolidating a consistent and ongoing international presence.
While projecting itself onto the international stage, the company maintains strong roots in its local territory, developing audience engagement and cultural mediation projects with the Puglia Culture promotion network and institutional partners, fostering proximity and dialogue with local communities and citizens.
