Pablo Girolami

Pablo Girolami is an Italian-Spanish choreographer who trained at the Tanz Akademie Zürich, graduating in 2014.
He has danced with the Hessisches Staatsballett Wiesbaden/Darmstadt and Spellbound Contemporary Ballet, working with choreographers such as Wayne McGregor, Hofesh Shechter, and Marcos Morau.
He is currently the artistic director of IVONA and a freelance choreographer. Since 2024, he has also been the artistic director of the Fagagna Dance Festival.
Pablo has received significant awards, including:
- First prize at the Jerusalem International Choreography Competition;
- Best choreography at the Certamen Coreográfico del Distrito de Tetuán – Madrid;
- Best choreography at the Linkage Choreographic Competition – Sofia;
- TWAIN Direzioni_Altre Award in 2019 and 2022 – Tuscania;
- Audience Award at RIDCC – Rotterdam;
- Audience Award at the CortoinDanza Festival – Cagliari;
- Audience Award at the 33rd Certamen Coreográfico de Madrid;
- Best dance film at the ZED International Videodanza Festival – Bologna;
- Best dance film at Interfaccia Digitale – HangarFest – Pesaro;
- FeelGood Award at BIGFF – Bari.
In addition to his work with IVONA, Pablo has created pieces for several companies, including the Ballet of the Graz Opera, Jerusalem Dance Theatre, Club Guy & Roni, EgriBianco Danza, and the Nuovo Balletto di Toscana. In 2025, together with Philippe Kratz, he won the Venice Biennale Call with the new creation “Sisifo Felice,” which will debut at the Venice Biennale Danza 2025.
Girolami has expanded his artistic presence by taking on roles as movement director and consultant in theatrical and multidisciplinary projects, as well as working in education at major institutions such as the Bachelor Program in Zurich and Taipei Art University.
