Misshapen – Sara Ariotti
Choreography: Sara Ariotti
Production: Associazione House of IVONA
With the support of: DANCEHAUSpiù – National Centre for Dance Production (creation included in the #YoungDreamers 2025 project) and SD Factory – Creative Laboratory, Reggio Emilia.
Misshapen arises from an intimate and personal need of Sara Ariotti, who, through this first solo work-in-progress, embarks on her exploration of the body’s mutations.
Through asymmetric and fragmented postures, the artist brings to life mutable bodies—figures she usually depicts with pen drawings on paper—animating these female forms and inhabiting them.
A journey through darkness and light that leads to the encounter with one’s shadow, one’s reflection, and, only after several attempts, one’s true self.
Misshapen, meaning “deformed,” and with the prefix “miss” evoking the feminine figure, seeks to portray the metamorphosis of a body that transforms and deforms in search of its various identities, embodying the performer’s own line and essence.
Sara Ariotti is a contemporary dancer who, after training in the NOHA professional programs in urban dance, Studio XL Contemporary in Reggio Emilia, and Nuova X at n.o.d. in Turin, began her career in 2022 with Pablo Girolami’s company IVONA, with which she continues to perform.
Since 2023, she has also been part of the urban fusion company DACRU Dance Company, performing in PEOPLE [the poetry of immaterial things] and in the new creation Il Sale e Il Pane.
Recently, she began working on personal and collective projects, developing a solo work-in-progress titled Misshapen with the support of DANCEHAUSpiù and produced by House of IVONA, as well as the short dance film A SAMPLED DANCE in collaboration with video maker Floriana Corpina.
She is currently developing a new project, still in progress, Nice to Meet You Two with Kyda Pozza, within the framework of Calimala Disclosure Platform – Nutida Festival.
The performance is free.

The nature of is a journey through the complexity of human instincts. In this site-specific creation, Cornelia reclaims the right to exist as a constantly transforming body — fluid, ever-evolving — reaffirming the essential human need to build supportive communities: spaces where vulnerability becomes strength and metamorphosis is not only possible but necessary for growth and change. The project stems from an artistic collaboration with the brand TRIPPAT, which has designed unique headpieces inspired by the concept of masks, symbols of transformation and mutable identity. This creative process celebrates the importance of embracing uncertainty as an integral part of existence, exploring the power of mutation as a precious and vital resource.
Cornelia is a dance company founded in 2019 in Naples by Nyko Piscopo (Artistic Director), Nicolas Grimaldi Capitello, Eleonora Greco, Leopoldo Guadagno, and Francesco Russo. Since 2021, Cornelia has been supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture as a Dance Production Organization under 35, and since 2023 by the Campania Region.
The Cornelia team develops its productions within an artistic framework that spans tradition and innovation — PAST/PRESENT/FUTURE — with the aim of challenging dance conventions and creating a conscious space for research on the moving body. The company thrives on collaborations with professionals from other fields, such as digital and visual artists, to make artistic creation more fluid and free.
In this dynamic environment, the company increases its focus on contemporary themes such as body inclusivity in all its forms and aesthetics, and the expressive needs of both younger and older generations.
The company’s activity spreads both in Italy and abroad: its productions are presented in various Italian theaters (Fondazione Nazionale della Danza – Aterballetto, Teatro delle Muse in Ancona, Teatro Bellini in Naples, Teatro Comunale in Vicenza, Teatri di Siena, Scenario Pubblico in Catania, and many more) and take part in major national and international dance and video dance festivals (including Biennale di Venezia 2020, Campania Teatro Festival 2021, VisàVi Gorizia, Teatri di Siena, Jadranski Festival in Montenegro, Gdansk Dance Festival in Poland, FilmPride in Brighton, Choreoscope in Barcelona, and others), as well as streaming projects broadcast in New York, London, Belgrade, Sweden, and Iran.
Noteworthy are the projects and activities carried out by the company to achieve internationalization objectives, fostering dialogue and exchange of artistic practices between Italian and international professionals. Notable collaborations include those with Maša Kolar (Director of the Croatian National Theatre in Rijeka) and Antonio Ruz (Director of La Normal Centro Coreográfico in Córdoba), for the production of original choreographic works intended for both Italian and international circuits. Among the key projects is Multiverso, winner of the national Boarding Pass Plus – Dance – Line B grant 2022/2023/2024 (4th edition). This initiative fostered an artistic alliance not only among the under-35 Italian dance companies involved in the RTO led by Cornelia, but also with Divadlo Studio Tanca in Slovakia, building a strong partnership in terms of both artistic and cultural exchange. Lastly, worth mentioning is the five-year partnership with the Professional State Drama Theatre in Georgia, through which an extra-European live performance networking project was developed, thanks to the support of the Crossing The Sea grant, awarded to Cornelia for 2023/2024.
Active not only in dance production, the company also organizes national events such as COMBO – the queer dance combination festival, and engages in training through free initiatives for dancers in the region.
Presenza Reale – Alice Carrino |duonux|
By: Alice Beatrice Carrino
With: Sofia Magnani
Costumes: Matteo Bittante
Production: DANCEHAUSpiù–Centro Nazionale di Produzione della Danza
With a contemporary interpretation freely inspired by Queen Margherita, the dance evokes gestures, gazes and atmospheres from a bygone era, creating a dialogue between history and the present. An artistic exploration that celebrates the Queen’s passion for pearls, often worn in elegant strands of precious necklaces. It is said that King Umberto gave her these jewels, perhaps as a gesture of reparation for his betrayals. The performance offers the audience an immersive experience — a journey through time made of fleeting moments of real life.
Alice Beatrice Carrino has been passionate about dance, music and theatre since childhood.
She received her artistic training in Milan at the Pier Lombardo Academy of Susanna Beltrami, graduating in 2010. She began her professional career dancing for Susanna Beltrami’s Company and Dancehaus Company, performing in all creations by Susanna Beltrami and Matteo Bittante from 2010 to 2020. At the same time, she worked with other choreographers such as Nihat Isa, Fabrizio Calanna, Daniele Longo, Romina Contiero and Marigia Maggipinto. Since 2019 she has been dancing for Naturalis Labor Company of Luciano Padovani in numerous productions. In 2023 she also danced for Lanza/Landi and for Jessica D’Angelo.
She is also an actress, performer and choreographer for commercials, short films, series and feature films. In 2024 she is the protagonist of the dance film 6th Chapter, directed by Nihad Isayev, and of an episode of the series Drugs 2, directed by Fabio Ilacqua.
She enjoys collaborating with other artists in multidisciplinary projects and in 2015 she earned a degree in Cultural Heritage Sciences. In 2018 she founded the company |duo nux| together with Cristian Cucco, supported by DANCEHAUSpiù, and in 2020 the show Delicious Overdose was created – invited to international festivals and winner of international choreographic awards.
In 2019 she created De rerum natura, a site-specific performance in the mountains, in 2023 Dora for the company N.HU.DA, and in 2024 Fu stella.
